U2, Drake, Sting to Headline iHeartRadio Music Festival
U2, Drake, Britney Spears and Sting lead the lineup for the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival and Daytime Village. The two-day festival will take place on September 23rd and 24th at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
Joining the headliners are a diverse roster of hitmakers across genres. Sam Hunt, Twenty One Pilots, Billy Idol, Florida Georgia Line, Sia, OneRepublic, Cage the Elephant, Zedd, Tears for Fears, Ariana Grande, Pitbull and Usher have also been tapped for the event. Ryan Seacrest will host.
The Daytime Village will take place once again at the Las Vegas Village across from the Luxor Hotel and Casino on Saturday, September 24th with performances by artists like Panic! At the Disco, Alessia Cara, Troye Sivan, Good Charlotte, Jeremih, DNCE and more. The music will be featured alongside interactive fan experiences throughout the Village.
Fans will be able to livestream the festival through the CW Network on its official site CWTV.com as well as the CW smartphone app. The event will also air as a televised special on October 6th and 7th on the TV network.
Festival organizers also announced that they’ll be teaming up with the Global Citizen Festival to “harness the power of music to fight inequality, protect our planet and end extreme poverty by 2030.” iHeartMedia will be streaming the Global Citizen Festival, which takes place on the same weekend as the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
The 2016 event will be the sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Festival, which has taken place each September since 2011 in Las Vegas. The festival has partnered with the CW since 2012. Last year’s headliners included Demi Lovato, Kanye West, Sam Smith, Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, the Weeknd and Lil Wayne. Past years have hosted Taylor Swift, Steven Tyler, Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, No Doubt and Bon Jovi.
