Obama Campaign Wish List Includes Jay-Z, Adam Levine
President Obama has sent campaign donors a long wish list of celebrity supporters, including Jay-Z, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Vampire Weekend, Janelle Monáe and many more. According to the Tennessean newspaper, which obtained a copy of the list, the president is seeking a wide range of celebrity endorsements and appearances for his reelection campaign.
Other performers reportedly being sought by the Obama team include Will.i.am, Arcade Fire, George Clooney, Jack Johnson and the Roots, among many others. Though their name appeared on the wish list, country trio Lady Antebellum recently told Entertainment Weekly that the group has no intention of making any political commitments. Several artists on the list – including Jay-Z, John Legend and Jamie Foxx – made appearances on the president’s behalf during his 2008 campaign.
