George Michael Discharged From Hospital in Vienna
George Michael has been released from a hospital in Vienna after weeks of treatment for severe pneumonia. According to the Austrian newspaper Oesterreich, the singer was discharged yesterday and immediately boarded a flight to his home in London. A spokesperson for the Vienna General Hospital has declined to comment on the report.
Michael was hospitalized late last month, resulting in the cancellation of the remainder of the tour dates on his Symphonica orchestral tour. Fans have been advised to hold onto their tickets for those gigs, though, as they are likely to be rescheduled in 2012.
Michael's Symphonica tour finds the pop star performing a set of songs from throughout his career with a full orchestra. In addition to his own tunes, he has also been singing a number of covers, including hits by New Order, the Police, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse.
