‘X Factor’ Duet Partners Revealed: Alanis Morissette, R. Kelly, Avril Lavigne
The X Factor‘s judges promised “superstar duets” during their Monday press conference, and they have delivered. This afternoon, the show revealed this evening’s lineup of guests who will sing with the final three contestants. Hip-hop crooner Chris Rene will perform with Avril Lavigne, rock favorite Josh Krajcik will be paired with Alanis Morissette, and soul belter Melanie Amaro (who won Monday’s draw and will close the show) will be joined by R. Kelly.
Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis (winner of Britain’s The X Factor) were already scheduled to appear on Thursday’s episode, in which the winner of the competition and its accompanying $5 million recording contract will be announced.
As mentor/judge Simon Cowell told reporters, the Wednesday and Thursday close of The X Factor‘s first season will be “the greatest finale ever, in terms of talent.” L.A. Reid concurred: “I’m really proud of the top three,” he said. “They’re all amazingly talented and unique in their own right. They have a distinct competitive advantage – big on talent and loads of charisma.” The contestants’ burgeoning fan base is sizeable as well: last week’s semifinalist round netted 30 million votes from viewers.
The duets and final performances episode of The X Factor airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. The results episode airs Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
