Steve Jobs Called John Mayer ‘Out of Control’
Steve Jobs, Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of the late Apple co-founder, will hit stores on Monday. The book reveals many of Jobs’ personal and professional grievances, from predictable beefs with Google, Microsoft and Intel to less obvious targets such as Fox News, President Obama and John Mayer. Yes – John Mayer, the singer-songwriter.
In a chapter about Jobs’ favorite musicians, the tech visionary expressed admiration for Mayer’s skill as a guitarist but slammed the artist as being “out of control” and in danger of “blowing it big time.” The book offers no explanation for Jobs’ concerns, though he could have been referring to the singer’s oversharing about his porn obsession and comments about having a “racist penis” early last year.
