Coheed and Cambria Parts Ways with Bassist
Coheed and Cambria announced on their official blog yesterday that bassist Michael Todd has left the band. “After a lot of thought, introspection and discussion, Coheed and Cambria will be continuing our journey without bassist Michael Todd,” the band said in a statement. “We have spoken to him and this is a mutual decision between both parties. Michael was a great contributor; our hearts go out to his family and to all those who appreciate his talents.” Longtime band associate Wes Styles will be filling in for Todd in the interim.

Todd was arrested last month on charges that he made a bomb threat to a pharmacist at a Walgreens in Attleboro, Massachusetts in order to score six bottles of the powerful painkiller oxycodone just hours before his band was to perform as the opening act for a Soundgarden show at the Comcast Center in nearby Mansfield. The bassist, who was convicted of drug possession in Florida in 2004 and for operating under the influence in New York, is set for a preliminary court hearing on August 9th.
