Coldplay Announce New Album ‘Mylo Xyloto’
Coldplay have announced that their fifth album, Mylo Xyloto, will hit stores on October 25th. The record, which was produced by Markus Dravs, Daniel Green and Rik Simpson, will feature additional contributions and “enoxification” from Brian Eno, who previously collaborated with the band on their 2008 album Viva La Vida.
Mylo Xyloto will be released in digital, CD and vinyl formats, with some deluxe packaging options. A limited-edition “pop-up album” version will be produced, featuring a 12″ x 12″ hardback book containing graffiti pop-up art design by David A. Carter. That edition will also include the record on CD and vinyl, plus photographs and excerpts from the band’s studio diaries and personal notebooks. Half of the standard edition CDs will be shipped with full color artwork, while the remainder will have the CD booklet flipped, showing the silver initials “M.X.” through a die-cut sheet placed over the color image.

Though the band have not yet revealed a track listing, the album will definitely including the hit “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” and the second single “Paradise,” and is very likely to include the songs “Us Against the World,” “Charlie Brown,” “Hurts Like Heaven” and “Major Minus,” all of which have been performed regularly at recent Coldplay gigs.
