‘The Voice’ Power Ranking: Is Adam Levine’s Team Unbeatable?
The battle lines are freshly drawn on NBC’s The Voice, with each judge down to just four singers after a month of duet-offs. Here’s our take on how the teams rank this week; after the next episode, we’ll carefully consider who deserves to be on top.
‘The Voice’ Recap: The Battle Rounds End in a Kiss
Judge: Adam Levine
Rank: 1
Team: Casey Weston, Javier Colon, Devon Barley, Jeff Jenkins
Why: When it comes to industry flash, Levine can’t rival fellow judges Cee Lo Green or Christina Aguilera. But his judiciousness and “wheeler dealer schmeeler” tactics have landed him with arguably the strongest team of the bunch, a crew of honey-voiced guys and a potential standout in Casey Weston. Casey may talk like Minnie Mouse, but get that girl on stage and she’s all Stevie Nicks.
Judge: Cee Lo Green
Rank: 2
Team: Vicci Martinez, Nakia, Curtis Grime and the Thompson sisters
Why: From the start, Cee Lo’s sights have been trained on high-risk investments that could pay off big. His riskiest such are the Thompson sisters, two Doublemint-y girls who might need some reining in to stay on the right side of adorable. Throw in a random country singer in Curtis Grimes, and there’s all the makings for either a disjointed team or a Benetton ad-style merging of disparate beauties.

Judge: Blake Shelton
Rank: 3
Team: Patrick Thomas, Jared Blake, Dia Frampton, Xenia Martinez
Why: Blake’s team is the most aesthetically unified so far, with styles ranging from countryish rock to countryish coffeehouse. His one foreseeable hiccup is a contingent of shy girl talents: Dia Frampton and 16-year-old Xenia Martinez, who currently sings just above a whisper. That said, Blake’s been nothing but comforting with them. They might just emerge with wings on.
Judge: Christina Aguilera
Rank: 4
Team: Frenchie Davis, Beverly MacClellan, Raquel Castro, Lily Elise
Why: Made up of diehard Xtina fans, Christina’s team is low on the vocal diversity totem pole. They all basically sound like versions of Christina, an affinity that may serve them well under the diva, or could ground them at the starting gate as the other, rangier teams hit their stride.
