Gaga promised she would post the words to the song if her fans could make #bornthiswaylyrics a trending topic on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, the hashtag was number one worldwide within an hour and the lyrics were unveiled. Here’s a taste from the song’s bridge:
No matter gay, straight, or bi,
Lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or Orient made
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to be brave

Though it’s almost impossible to get a sense of a song’s quality based only its lyrics, the words to “Born This Way” at least confirm that tune is something of an all-inclusive inspirational anthem. It should be fun to hear the pop star sing a refrain like “don’t be a drag, just be a queen,” though it’s hard to imagine a clunky phrase like “subway kid, rejoice your truth” coming off well even with a top-quality melody.

“Born This Way” is currently scheduled for official release on February 13, and the album of the same name is set to come out on May 23.
