Katy Perry, Usher, Fun. Added to Obama Inaugural Lineup
Katy Perry, Usher and fun. have joined a stacked lineup of artists slated to participate in inauguration events for President Obama, The Associated Press reports. Beyoncé, James Taylor and Kelly Clarkson are already scheduled to sing at the inauguration ceremony on January 21st. Also performing are Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Smokey Robinson, Marc Anthony, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, the cast of Glee, Far East Movement, Mindless Behavior, Nick Cannnon and the Soul Children of Chicago choir.
How President Obama Won a Second Term
Two official inaugural balls will be held throughout the Washington Convention Center, along with children’s concert on January 19th, though inauguration organizers have yet to announce which artists will play what events. Tickets for one of the galas, the Inaugural Ball, were priced at $60 and have already sold out; that event is expected to draw more than 35,000 attendees. For those who couldn’t score a ticket, various unofficial inaugural balls will be happening throughout Washington D.C.
Many of the artists performing were vocal supporters who joined the president on the campaign trail as he sought re-election: Perry played a handful of rallys, as did Wonder (who also wrote a song for the President), Legend and Anthony.
