U.K. quartet Alt-J has been causing a stir stateside since releasing their debut album, An Awesome Wave, last September. The band is currently touring the U.S. in support of their Mercury Prize-winning record, and they took a moment this weekend at the Governor’s Ball Music Festival to talk about their favorite part of the country.

“The middle part is the biggest part for us. Like Kansas City, Minneapolis are like our biggest market,” they said. “In Kansas City, we were checking in our luggage at the airport to leave, we’d just done a show there, and the air hostess, she was like 50. Maybe a bit older than 50, and she knew who we were. We were like, whoa!”
