‘Arrested Development’ Sets a Return Date
Finally, there’s a date: Arrested Development will return all at once on May 26th through Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Six years after the beloved show concluded its run on Fox, the fourth season will become available at 12:01 a.m. with 15 new episodes, each dedicated to a different character’s point of view.
Will Arnett Hints at More Bluth Trouble in ‘Arrested Development’ Season Four
The entire original cast returned to continue the adventures of the ne’er-do-well Bluth family, including Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, David Cross and Liza Minelli. The new episodes will also feature cameos from series narrator Ron Howard and, reportedly, Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter. The resurrection of Arrested Development was announced in 2011, and shooting on new episodes began last year.
Netflix has said there are no plans to continue the show beyond the fourth season, with CEO Reed Hastings calling the new episodes “a fantastic one-off.” Creator Mitchell Hurwitz has said that he hopes the fourth season can serve as a lead-in to an Arrested Development movie, though it’s not clear whether that will happen.
