Yeah Yeah Yeahs Burn It Down in ‘Sacrilege’
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released an unsettling video for new track “Sacrilege,” featuring a young girl who’s seemingly hated and persecuted by her small town. As the vengeful townspeople eye her around a bonfire and seemingly prepare to burn her at the stake, the video shifts and bounces through time, revealing the events that unfolded. A running masked man is shot dead in the street, and the rest of the town’s citizens remain strangely vindictive. The masked man is revealed to be the girl’s lover, but he’s not the only one – many of the vengeful townspeople seem pretty well acquainted with her, suggesting a different motive for their grisly retribution.
