Top Toy: Playable Electric Guitar Messenger Bag
Known for quirky accessories such as playable musical t-shirts, online retailer ThinkGeek is now rolling out a messenger bag emblazoned with a guitar illustration that can actually be strummed like a real instrument.
The manufacturer’s new Electronic Rock Guitar Bag, which retails for $49.99, includes a 14-button fretboard capable of generating actual chords and mini guitar amp speaker, allowing you to enjoy impromptu jam sessions. Capable of storing a 17-inch laptop, packing two large and six small pockets for holding assorted gadgets, and offering adjustable volume controls that literally go up to 11, the canvas bag is expected to ship August 28.
Powered by 4 AAA batteries, and allowing musicians to generate all major chords, users should be able to use the accessory to replicate a full-range of favorite tunes on-demand. How well they’ll sound coming from a carry-on, and bizarre you’ll look headbanging at the bus stop, still remains uncertain. But if there’s any lesson history teaches, it’s to not doubt a company capable of turning your beer belly into a full-size keyboard.
