Apple Allegedly Overcharging for OS X Lion
Buyers of Apple’s new Mac OS X Lion operating system have reportedly been overcharged in the form of multiple purchases, with one unlucky owner billed a whopping 122 times for the software.
Available via the Mac App Store for $29.99, a number of consumers have complained via posts on Apple’s Support Communities forums that they have been billed several times for a single purchase. One shopper even says that he was charged nearly $4000 for the privilege of owning the new OS, having received PayPal invoices totaling $3878.
According to Apple Insider, Apple and PayPal have laid blame at each others’ feet for the incidents, with dozens of users complaining about continued problems via online forums. While some say they have successfully resolved the incident, refunds may take upwards of a week to process. Others claim that their disputes remain ongoing.
