Just Dance 3 Song List, Motion Control Support Revealed
Video game maker UbiSoft has revealed dozens more tracks from Just Dance 3, bringing the latest in the multi-platinum dancing game series’ total song count to over 50 popular hits with custom choreography. Coming October 11 for PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360, it will also feature several new game modes that let up to four players mash-up performances and Kinect owners customize and share dance routines.
Hoping to avoid the lukewarm reviews that plagued the otherwise 5 and 4.3 million-selling Just Dance and Just Dance 2, the franchise’s latest installment is going broader and more contemporary. Rather than stick with the series’ traditional pop soundtracks, Just Dance 3 will instead include support for genres ranging from Bollywood to Reggaeton, and include recent smashes such as LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” Cee Lo’s “Forget You” and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite.” Although still filled with more than its fair share of Velveeta-drenched jingles (see selections like Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” and Bananarama’s “Venus”), at least there’ll be a few hits modern listeners will recognize.
While the full soundtrack won’t exactly floor audiophiles, despite the inclusion of acts like KISS, Queen and Nelly Furtado, additional tracks will be available for download. Although, in fairness, any game that offers karaoke-style sing-along lyrics and classic ‘80s jingles like a-ha’s “Take On Me” or Pointer Sisters’ “I’m So Excited” probably doesn’t take itself that seriously anyway.
