Get Out the Black Arm Bands for Quality: “Valentine’s Day” is a Hit!
Crap wins again at the box office. As Variety reported: “Warner Bros.’ romantic ensemble turned in a whopping four-day estimate of $66.9 million at 3,665 locations to become the all-time highest-grossing film over Presidents Day weekend.” It’s pitiful to hear that the deathless classic the vomitous VD reduced to 2nd place is none other than Nic Cage’s ghastly Ghost Rider, which took in $52 million back in 2007.
I have only one question to ask now that most of you have seen Valentine’s Day (you did see it, don’t lie): Did you actually like it? Are film reviewers nuts for puking all over this vision of life as a box of inedible chocolates?
I can see what attracted you to the movie: a romcom date night flick that fit the holiday. But did the movie itself live up to your expectations for it? Really? Really! I have to know.
