Cosmopolitan Launches New Men’s Magazine for iPad
Women’s magazine Cosmopolitan has launched a new publication for men, titled CFG (Cosmo for Guys), which is available exclusively to iPad owners as a free downloadable app. An eclectic blend of features, dating information and self-help advice, issues can be purchased from publisher Hearst for $1.99 apiece, or $19.99 for a year’s subscription.
Reportedly aimed at helping men understand “what women want,” the digital magazine offers advice on lofty topics such as under which circumstances women will cheat, preferred sexual positions and what to do on awkward dates. Quizzes, polls and questionnaires submitted to Cosmpolitan.com readers will also be used as a source of information and amusement, with results piped into the app for guys’ edification.
According to the editors, the app was designed in response to Cosmo’s growing number of male readers, who reportedly see the magazine as a playbook for women, and like sneaking a peek in privacy. Presumably, we’ll have to wait until issue two to find out how to respond if she accidentally catches you cramming before your next date night.
