Drake Plays Beer Hockey on ‘Fallon’
Drake faced off against Jimmy Fallon in a cutthroat new game called “Beer Hockey” last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The competition is the “perfect combination of two of my favorite games,” the Late Night host said, “beer pong and air hockey.” Fallon, who discovered the game online, explained that the rules were if the puck landed in a cup, the loser had to drink the beer; whoever scores three goals wins. Although the match started off friendly enough – with Fallon hyping Drake’s turn at hosting and serving as musical guest for Saturday Night Live tomorrow – it got serious quickly.
“Drake, you’re from Canada,” Fallon said at one point. “You have to win at hockey.”
“I love beer and hockey, that’s the whole point,” Drake replied.

The pair each took opposite ends of a custom-designed air-hockey table with holes for seven red Solo cups in the goal zone. “We specially made this,” Fallon said. “That’s what we do here. We spent days making this.”
Calliope music, served up by the Roots, filled the room as the two squared off. “I might even just give you one,” Drake said after Fallon sent the first serve right off the table. “That’s how confident I am.”
But the first to score was Fallon. Drake took a sip and did a mini-bow. “SNL’s gonna be rough this weekend,” Fallon said. “That’s definitely real beer, by the way.” Then the host scored again and did a victory dance. It all came down to one more goal, and if Fallon made it, the host would be the winner – but Drake managed to get one in. With the heat on, and no spoilers here, the opponents buckled down until a victor could be declared.
