Plus: Jackson Album in Limbo, Glastonbury Canceled
Unreleased Michael Jackson Album ‘In Limbo’
The collection of unreleased Michael Jackson songs that was originally Set for November is now “in limbo,” as the co-executors of the Jackson estate and producers brought on for the project continue to work on demos Jackson recorded in 2007. The compilation will reportedly feature outtakes from Jackson’s Invincible album and not his earlier releases. [Showbiz 411]
Glastonbury 2012 Canceled Due To Lack of Toilets
Michael Eavis, the organizer of the annual Glastonbury festival, has confirmed that the fest won’t be taking place in 2012 due to a lack of toilets and police, because the Summer Olympics will happen in London a month later. “We have decided to cancel in 2012 because there will be severe shortages of police and Portaloo buildings — both essential to the festival,” Eavis told Britain’s Daily Mail. “We have our own stock of portable toilets but we always need more. We shop around with four companies to get the best price, but we are not bothering for 2012. There will be a huge demand for Portaloo toilets in London, so every–one will push up their prices and I can see it getting very expensive.” [

Red Hot Chili Peppers Eye Summer 2011 Release for New Album
Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has given an update on the band’s new album, their first since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. “We probably have three to four more weeks left for cutting basic tracks,” Smith said. “Then we’ll start doing overdubs — guitars, vocals, all the other things that go on a record. After that, there might be a couple of things to do in January. Or we could start mixing — and as you know, that can take some time. I’m just projecting and guessing, but I would say we’d like to try to deliver the album in March. We’re definitely hoping to have it out by next summer. It’s been a long time in coming.” [Music Radar]
