‘The Voice’ Draws Big Ratings for NBC
Last night’s Season Four premiere of The Voice didn’t miss a beat with new coaches Shakira and Usher helping haul in big ratings for NBC. The singing competition reeled in 13.4 million viewers and scored a 4.7 rating with adults under 50, Vulture reports.
‘The Voice’ Premiere Recap: New Coaches Shakira and Usher Mark Their Territory
The Voice gave NBC a huge boost, tripling its average audience of 4.2 million viewers from last week and almost quadrupling last week’s 1.2 rating with adults under 50. By comparison, American Idol‘s 12th season premiere in January pulled in an average of 17.8 million viewers, a 19 percent drop from the previous year.
The Voice has already been renewed for two more seaons, with Shakira and Usher filling in for regular coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green. The show’s blind audition rounds continue tonight.
