Kid Cudi to Join Aaron Paul in ‘Need for Speed’ Movie
Kid Cudi will make his film debut alongside Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul in the street-racing movie Need for Speed, based on the Electronic Arts video game series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Paul will play a small-time street racer who signs up for a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge after he’s framed for the death of a friend. Cudi will play a member of his crew in the movie, which DreamWorks says will seek to capture the tone of Seventies car-culture movies.

It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Cudi, who has acted before with a role in HBO’s How to Make It in America and an appearance on One Tree Hill. In addition to filming Need for Speed, which is expected to hit theaters in February 2014, the rapper will release a new album, Indicud, in March. Cudi also contributed last year to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Summer.
Paul last fall won his second Emmy for portraying Jesse Pinkman on AMC’s Breaking Bad, which is set to begin the second half of its fifth and final season this summer.
