Delta Rae Storm Through ‘Dance in the Graveyards’ – Premiere
In June, the Durham, North Carolina-based roots-rock band Delta Rae released their major label debut, Carry the Fire. To celebrate the album’s release, they played a rousing set at the Troubador in Los Angeles. “This was a nerve-wracking night for me,” singer-guitarist Ian Holljes tells Rolling Stone. “It was our CD release show in L.A. I felt like we had a lot to prove; I still feel like we have a lot to prove.”
Carry the Fire‘s track “Dance in the Graveyards” was an energetic hallmark of the band’s set, complete with call-and-response audience interaction. “This song is such a release for me and the band, especially on a night so loaded with meaning. I feel really grateful that we were able to capture that in this video,” Holljes explains. “The emotion and energy that we share with the audience here is the same quality that, night after night, has propelled us through a really remarkable year.”
Next year, Delta Rae will hit the road on a co-headlining tour with ZZ Ward.
