Frank Turner Explores Time’s Passage in ‘Losing Days’
Punk-rocker turned acoustic singer-songwriter Frank Turner has a curious way of mixing his hardcore roots with his inner folk sensitivity. After splitting from the English hardcore band Million Dead, Turner shifted gears on four albums of gentler tunes. He is due to release his fifth studio album, Tape Deck Heart, on April 23rd on Xtra Mile/Interscope. Now you can check out an exclusive performance video of Turner and his band performing a track from that album, “Losing Days,” a poignant reflection on how quickly time slips away.
“‘Losing Days’ is a song about getting older, about the way time used to creep by like a glacier but now it flows more like a river,” Turner tells Rolling Stone. “It also mentions me getting my first tattoo when I was 16, very much underage. I got a UKHC [hardcore scene] logo on my shoulder.”
