Twisted Sister Dee and Co. play ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ on ‘Fallon’
Twisted Sister went on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night to perform their 1984 classic “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” The 1980s hair metal icons are performing at a series of European festivals this summer, and this Friday they’re playing New York’s Best Buy Theater to benefit the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation.
Three years ago we spoke with Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider about his band. “It’s not the focus of my life anymore,” he said. “It’s oldies. Last year we did seven shows. We’ll do festivals and we’ll put on the makeup and costumes and give the people what they want. One thing they don’t want is new music. We have no illusions about that. . . . We will continue until the spandex explodes. There’s bad news and good news: Bad news is onstage we look like a bunch of aging drag queens – the good news is we always looked like aging drag queens!”
