Will Arnett Hints at More Bluth Trouble in ‘Arrested Development’ Season Four
Will Arnett recently dropped some clues about the fate of the Bluth family in the upcoming fourth season of Arrested Development, and things are looking rough.
Speaking at the SXSW Samsung Galaxy Lounge in Austin, Arnett, who plays eldest brother Gob Bluth on the show, said that the family has “kind of fallen apart,” Us Weekly reports. “Left to their own devices, all of these characters will evolve into the worst versions of themselves.”

Arnett implied that his own character might be drifting in an even more wayward direction than usual. “[Gob’s] got a new group of friends,” he said. “He’s running with a pretty fast crowd. His fallback is always his illusions. Magic is who he is.”
Show creator Mitch Hurwitz also talked to Us about how the growing success of the cast led to the new format for the fourth season, in which each episode will take one character as its primary focus. “It was hard to get everyone together at the same time. When you try to get that group together again, it’s unlikely,” he said. “Everyone has gone on to great careers and movies and such . . . We’re asking for 20 weeks from everyone. That’s a huge chunk of time! We decided everyone gets one week and then we’ll get them to make cameos in other [episodes].”
The 14 new epsiodes are set to premiere on Netflix in May.
