Psy Trades Praise With Secretary-General of United Nations
Psy stopped by the United Nations and met with U.N. Secretary-General and fellow South Korean Ban Ki-moon yesterday, The Associated Press reports. The K-pop star gave the U.N. chief a short break from his typically serious duties, trading praise and pulling off some signature “Gangnam Style” dance moves. Ban even joked that he’s less famous than Psy, remarking, “I’m a bit jealous.”
“Until two days ago someone told me I am the most famous Korean in the world,” said Ban. “Now I have to relinquish. I have no regrets.” Psy himself was playful but praiseworthy. “So now you have first and second famous Korean in the same building,” he said.
“For all the Koreans he is the guy, you know, in everyone’s heart in Korea, the best among the best. To be here and he knows me, even the thing that he knows me is so touching right now, and he’s saying he saw my video,” said Psy. “He counted my video views . . . This is much more better feeling than when I did Number Two on Billboard.”
