Korn, Disturbed Join Ozzfest
Korn, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed and Chevelle will headline Ozzfest
along with festival namesake Ozzy Osbourne himself. The eighth
installment of summer metal fest opens June 28th in San Antonio and
closes two months later with an August 28th show in West Palm
Beach, Florida.
Second stage performers include Cradle of Filth, Nothingface,
Trust Company, Grade 8, Finger Eleven, Shadows Fall, Killswitch
Engage, Hotwire, Twisted Method, Unloco and Memento.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s manager/wife noted last year that the
festival’s second and third stages have been a good springboard for
up-and-coming acts. Chevelle is this year’s main stage act with a
second stage diploma. “We’ve always been known to give new bands a
stage and forum for their music,” she said. “Incubus, System of a
Down, Godsmack, the list goes on and on. We feel very honored that
we have the opportunity to give these bands a stage and such a huge
crowd to play in front of. Now for the kids to see them on the main
stage, playing forty-five minutes, you have growth. I think kids
like to see that growth because they’ve helped to make those
bands.”
