LCD Soundsystem Announce More NYC Shows to Fight Scalpers
LCD Soundsystem have announced that they will be playing four additional shows at Manhattan’s Terminal 5 between March 28th and 31st as a way of fighting the scalpers who made tickets for their final show at Madison Square Garden almost impossible to obtain. The band hope to drive down scalper prices by decreasing demand for tickets for the MSG show.

In a long post on the LCD Soundsystem website, frontman James Murphy explained that the immediate sell-out for the Madison Square Garden gig took him by surprise, and that he had considered himself bold for suggesting the group could sell the venue out in 10 days. Murphy went on to express a deep frustration with the inability for many fans – including his friends and family – to score tickets for the show, and raged against the scalpers who were already selling tickets at exorbitant mark-ups.

According to Murphy, the band’s shows at Terminal 5 will include most if not all of the songs the group intend to perform at their three-hour career finale at the Garden. Tickets for this run of shows will go on sale sometime later this week.
