My Morning Jacket to Open CMJ
Kentucky buzz band My Morning Jacket will headline the opening night party for the 2003 CMJ Music Marathon at New York City’s Webster Hall on October 22nd. The show will also feature performances by the Fever, Black Box Recorder, the New Deal and others.
As is the annual case with the Music Marathon, scores of bands will take to the city’s myriad venues for four nights of music. The Mars Volta, the Shins, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Elefant, Earlimart, Radio 4, Lucero, Broken Social Scene and Bettie Serveert are among the more than 100 bands already confirmed for the event, which runs through October 25th.
The Music Marathon will also play host to numerous music industry-related panels including a special conversation with Yoko Ono about her art and activism, hosted by Village Voice/Rolling Stone critic Robert Christgau.
