U2’s Spider-man Musical Announces Cast
After announcing its opening night on Broadway last week, producers have rounded out the cast for U2’s Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark musical. Broadway vets Isabel Keating, Michael Mulheren and Gideon Glick have signed on for the play. (Their roles have not been announced.) Spider-man, which began rehearsals on Monday, will go into previews on November 14th and open December 21st at the Foxwoods Theater. [ Variety ]

Mos Def Cast in New Play
Mos Def will star in John Guare’s new play A Free Man of Color, which tells the story of a wealthy man living in 19th century New Orleans. A British folk singer who wrote John Lennon a letter seeking advice finally received a response — 34 years later. The former Beatle responded to Steve Tilston’s letter just months after the Beatles broke up, but Tilston didn’t receive the correspondence, which included Lennon’s phone number, until 2005.
