Rehearsal is for connecting the dots.

The Hit Factory
Nobody LOVES rehearsing but Gibson have been letting us rehearse at their studio in Manhattan, the Hit Factory. Not gonna lie. Been. . . pretty awesome.
-
Amazing Story
I'm in the middle of an amazing story in this photo. It's important on show days (especially ones that include a lot of press) to always have a good story up your sleeve.
-
Radio on the Road
Seriously, I cannot get enough of the radio communication on the road. I desperately wish I had a radio of my own. I would just talk and talk and talk and talk. . . actually, best not give me one.
-
‘Heartthrob’
Apparently the "Heartthrob" cocktail was a bit more delicious than "The Closer" cocktail. I wouldn't know since I never got a chance to taste either of them. 🙁
-
Ride in Style
Usually we get around NYC on the subway. . . but when we're doing press, it's easier to relax between engagements in a comfortable SUV.
-
VH1!
Sara leads the way to our first promo engagement at VH1!
-
Time to Freshen Up
No sense in going on TV looking like you slept five hours the night before and are recovering from strep throat and the flu! Time to freshen up my look!
-
T+S Classics
While I get makeup, Sara and Ted work out our first-ever medley of old T+S classics for the show!
-
Those Bedroom Eyes
It took Sara two days to get all this makeup off, but it was worth it. Look at those bedroom eyes.
-
Multi-Tasking Maven
Sara is the queen of multi-tasking. While she gets her makeup done for the VH1 Big Morning Buzz show, she also rehearses the T+S oldies medley for the show with Ted.
-
‘Vh1’s Big Morning Buzz’
We performed "Closer" and "Back in Your Head" on Vh1's Big Morning Buzz show! It was our first visit to the show and everyone was so lovely.
-
Carrie Keagan and Jim Shearer
Up close and personal with [VH1 hosts] Carrie Keagan and Jim Shearer!
-
Fin
VH1. . . done!
-
Iced, Iced Tea
I'll work that iced tea for at least 3/4 of the day. It goes everywhere with me.
-
Below Freezing
Below-freezing winds, Sara Quin. Sara Quin, below-freezing winds. Enjoy.
-
Onward to Fuse
We get up close and personal with Fuse. Notice the outfit change.
-
Stairs, So Many Stairs
I've said it before and I will say it again, probably in this gallery: stairs. So many stairs.
-
Fan Swag
Before soundcheck, I look through the fanmail from the night before. We get a lot of letters but also a lot of new music. Other popular items while we were in NYC: cakes, flowers, playing cards and t-shirts! Pretty awesome!
-
Hair Do
Some days, the only time you have to get your hair cut is before the show. Sara crosses another thing off her to-do list.
-
Rehearse
Sara and I and Ted finally get to rehearse our T+S oldies medley onstage.
-
Loud Therapy
I have dreams that look like this: no one shows up for the performance and we have to play to an empty room. Soundcheck is like therapy. I work through my issues every afternoon between 3pm and 4pm.
-
Where Is Everybody?
Where is everybody? ? Are we early? Hello? Anyone. . .
-
Setlist
Setlist. . . setlist. . . All I do is think about the setlist. . .
-
Feminist Playing Cards!
Everyone needs a pack of Feminist Playing Cards! One of our favourite gifts in a long, long time!
-
Thanks for the Babycakes
Some of our most devoted (and lovely) fans stop by for a quick hello pre-show. Thanks for the Babycakes, you guys!
-
Myspace Angle
Sara working her Myspace angle.
-
Our Hero
Our hero Cyndi Lauper stops by post-show! Her So Unusual was a HUGE influence on Heartthrob.
-
Feeling Blue
I typically try a few outfits on before I settle on something for the show. Tonight, I was feeling blue.
-
Seconds to Showtime
Seconds to showtime. We take a minute to gather ourselves sidestage.
-
Up and Running
Sara gives a toast pre-show to our awesome band and crew. We're finally up and running! Here we go. . .
-
Opener
To change things up, we played our opening song ("Back In Your Head") with the house lights up. It was so cool to see the audience.
-
Bold as Love
Heartthrob is an intense, bold and lively record so we wanted to ensure the live show was as bold, intense and lively! Our backdrop is able to transform from song to song thanks to projections created by our show designer, Tobias Rylander.

Lift Post-Show
Brendan Bourke gives me a lift post-show.
