HBO Buys Pussy Riot Documentary at Sundance
HBO Documentary Films has bought the U.S. television rights for Pussy Riot – A Punk Prayer at the Sundance Film Festival, Billboard reports. The film, directed and produced by Mike Lerner and Maxim Pozdorovkin, made its world premiere on January 18th, and follows the feminist art-punk collective who were arrested and prosecuted following their staged prayer demonstration inside a Russian cathedral. “It’s one of the stories of the decade,” Lerner told Rolling Stone earlier this month. “It’s feminism on trial.”
