La Toya Jackson: Michael Was “Murdered” By “Shadowy Entourage”
La Toya Jackson, Michael’s older sister and the author of a controversial 1991 tell-all book about the family, spoke to the U.K.’s Daily Mail about the details surrounding the superstar’s sudden death, revealing her belief that Michael was “murdered” by a money-motivated “shadowy entourage” who kept the King of Pop supplied with prescription drugs in order to control him.
“I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people,” La Toya told the Daily Mail. “He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person. People took advantage of that. People fought to be close to him, people who weren’t always on his side. Less than a month ago, I said I thought Michael was going to die before the London shows because he was surrounded by people who didn’t have his best interests at heart.”
Michael’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray is now being named as the main focus of the LAPD investigation as official try to determine if prescription drugs played a role in Michael’s death, and La Toya says Murray’s behavior was suspicious in the hours after Michael was taken to UCLA Medical Center on June 25th. In fact, La Toya said Murray “disappeared” from the hospital when the family starting asking him what had happened to cause Michael to go into cardiac arrest. While a pair of autopsies failed to reveal any defects that could have caused the cardiac arrest — and with the toxicology report pending — La Toya said “four needle marks” could be seen on Jackson’s neck, hinting that injections of Propofol might have played a significant and possibly fatal role in Jackson’s death. The Los Angeles police chief has not ruled out homicide in Jackson’s death.
La Toya told the Daily Mail that she last saw Michael at the Joe and Katherine Jackson’s 60th wedding anniversary three weeks before Michael’s death. Still, La Toya was worried about younger brother. “I said to my family a month ago, ‘He’s never going to make it to London.’ He was worth more dead than alive,” La Toya said.
La Toya wasn’t the only Jackson sister to express concern for her brother in the years prior to his death: In 2007, sister Janet reportedly tried and failed to stage an intervention.
