Maroon 5’s ‘Hands All Over’ Due September 21st
It’s been three years since Maroon 5 released their double-platinum album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, and now Adam Levine and Co. are gearing up for their return: the band will release its third studio album, Hands All Over on September 21st. To prep for the release, Maroon 5 are dropping the album’s first single on June 28th, followed by a U.S. tour that runs through late summer.
For Hands All Over, Maroon 5 teamed up with Robert “Mutt” Lange, the producer behind monster albums like AC/DC’s Highway to Hell and Shania Twain’s Come On Over, which remains the biggest-selling album by a female solo artist. The group cut the 15 tracks while isolated in Lange’s studio in the Swiss mountains. “There’s never been a more Mutt-friendly band than us,” Levine told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “He’s into pop, he’s an amazing rock producer and he pushed us — really kicked my ass.” The resulting disc will offer something for everyone, from the Motown-ish “I Can’t Lie” to the country-tinged “Out of Goodbyes” (featuring a guest spot from Lady Antebellum) to throwback soul tracks like “Give a Little More.”
Maroon 5 have enlisted Guster, Owl City, VV Brown, Ry Cuming and American Idol champ Kris Allen for their rotating roster of opening acts this summer. The trek kicks off July 30th in Saratoga Springs, New York, and currently runs through August 29th. More dates will be announced soon; tickets go on sale starting this Friday, May 14th.
