Beastie Boys to Release ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part Two’ in Spring
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees the Beastie Boys announced a change, sort of, to their spring album release. “Although we regret to inform you that Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 will continue to be delayed indefinitely, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 will be released on time as originally planned in Spring of 2011,” the trio said in a statement posted on BeastieBoys.com.
Part One was completed and originally scheduled for release in September 2009, with the still-in-the-works Part Two to follow in early 2011, but was delayed indefinitely when Adam “MCA” Yauch underwent treatment for a tumor on his parotid gland and lymph nodes.

With MCA on the mend, the Beasties were looking at a September 2010 release date for Part One. “We’ve been letting it age,” Mike D told Rolling Stone in April. “The writing is the growing of the grapes, and we’ve already macerated, and at this point, it’s been living in a barrel and being stored in bottles in the cellar, and hopefully by September, we will uncork.”
Yauch added, “We may or may not [release Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1] depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear.” However, September came and went without word about a release date.
