‘Breaking Bad’ Leads Writers Guild TV Nominations
AMC’s Breaking Bad dominated the TV nominations at the Writers Guild Awards yesterday, picking up five nods, including Best Drama Series and four for individual episodes, Reuters reports. The show will duke it out with Homeland, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones for the Best Drama Series category.

HBO also had a strong showing, with Girls, The Newsroom and Veep up for the Best New Series category along with FOX’s The Mindy Project and ABC’s Nashville. Girls is also up for the Best Comedy Series, competing against 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Louie and Modern Family.
The Writers Guild of America will present the awards on February 17th in simultaneous gatherings in New York and Los Angeles.
