The Worst Movies of September
Break out the nose plugs and rubber gloves, ’cause it’s Scumtember! Peter Travers runs down the ten worst films to flicker on movie screens during September, including the drivel of Resident Evil: Retribution; the overly preachy Won’t Back Down; Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver’s snoozefest/paycheck movie, The Cold Light of Day; and the film Travers is sure nobody saw but him, The Words. Not enough scum? Don’t worry, Travers has six more picks for you to jeer, including the worst of the worst: horror disaster House At The End of the Street, which Hunger Games heroine Jennifer Lawrence filmed before taking on Katniss. Travers does predict that Lawrence will take home the Academy Award for Best Actress for her turn in the upcoming The Silver Lining Playbook (out in November); “But for this one, for the The House At the End of The Street,” he continues, “she wins nothing but our contempt!”
