Watch Brian Williams Rap ‘Baby Got Back’
The most trusted name in news and rapping circles around fools, Brian Williams, was back on the mic Monday night. Jimmy Fallon and his The Tonight Show team once again chopped up the NBC Nightly News anchor’s broadcasts, this time making him spit Sir Mix-A-Lot‘s timeless rump-shaking anthem “Baby Got Back.”

B-Will delivers the track with an unflappable, avuncular aplomb that would make Walter Cronkite cower, though as always serious props to whoever compiled this at the Tonight Show. Using the last syllable of Kim Jong-Un’s name to recreate Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Uh, double up, uh uh,” was an excellent touch, though nothing tops Kathie Lee Gifford’s brief but unforgettable guest spot on the “make me so horny” line.
Fallon’s been getting Williams to spit hot fire since he was host of Late Night, amassing a collection of classics that includes the newsman’s take on Warren G’s “Regulate,” Young MC’s “Bust a Move” and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch’s “Good Vibrations.” So far during Fallon’s Tonight Show tenure, Williams has teamed up with Lester Holt to recreate the Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Tonight” before returning to rock the mic solo on Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice.” If Fallon keeps this up, he should be able to drop Brian Williams’ exclusive debut mixtape by the end of the year. Might we suggest a title: Willmatic.
