Ice-T Does ‘Dick Dance,’ Reveals ‘Call of Duty’ Crew Name on ‘Conan’
When he isn’t rapping or solving especially heinous crimes on Law & Order: SVU, you can probably catch Ice-T wreaking havoc on Call of Duty with his “Sex, Money, Guns” squadron — and maybe doing his patented “dick dance.” The rapper spoke about his love of gaming on Conan Monday night, detailing his ridiculous victory dance, which is not a two-step with a buddy named Dick as host Conan O’Brien may have hoped.
As the musician/actor explained to a flabbergasted O’Brien, he’s got some over-the-top gaming habits, whether it’s startling his wife Coco and her friends with his yelling, or whipping out his genitals and shaking his hips when he beats a particularly tough level. Ice is even gracious enough to offer a blessedly censored rendition of his “liberating” hip swivel, causing Andy Richter to ask, “Now when that happens, do Coco’s friends say, ‘What’s that sound?'”
“Unfortunately it doesn’t make that much noise,” Ice cracks. Richter even suggests tying a bell to it, or maybe adding sparklers, though Ice turns down the suggestion with a firm, “No fire around that area.”
As for Ice-T‘s other ventures, the musician recently reunited his metal outfit Body Count — infamous for their 1992 song “Cop Killer” — for their fifth LP Manslaughter and upcoming summer tour as part of the Mayhem Festival. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper said he hoped the new Body Count record would remind young people that rock music could still be dangerous.
“Hopefully it’ll reopen the genre up,” he said. “You’ve got to remember, when we went out first, Rage Against the Machine was our opening act. That style has been missing from rock for a minute. Maybe this will bring it back.”
