Weekend Rock Question: What Is the Best Grunge Album?
Soundgarden return this month with King Animal, their first album since way back in 1996. They broke up right around the time that grunge music went the way of the dinosaurs, but their return has gotten us thinking about that era of rock history, when a ton of great albums were released in a very short period of time.
Now we have a question for you: what is your favorite grunge album of all time? We realize this is bound to cause some controversy, as the term “grunge” has never been properly defined. Many bands that blew up in the early 1990s found themselves attached to that label, though in the case of groups like the Smashing Pumpkins or Red Hot Chili Peppers, it made very little sense. Then there’s a whole wave of post-grunge bands that claimed to be carrying on the legacy. (We pity the person that votes for a Creed album here.) But don’t let us define the term for you. Vote for whichever grunge album you like best. Just please only vote once, and only for a single album.
