‘Once’ Musical Will Open on Broadway
A new musical based on the film Once will go directly to Broadway following its Off Broadway run at the New York Theater Workshop, which began last night in Manhattan. The show, which features music and lyrics by the Swell Season's Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, will begin previews for its Broadway run at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater on February 28th and open officially on March 18th. It is very unusual – practically unheard of – for a show's Broadway run to be announced in advance of its Off Broadway opening.
