Exclusive: Black Keys Reveal Cover Art For ‘Lonely Boy’
The Black Keys will be taking part in Record Store Day's second annual "Back to Black" Friday event on November 25th by shipping a limited edition 12-inch of their new single, "Lonely Boy," to participating independent music retailers. Both the lead track and the B-side, "Run Right Back," will be included on the band's new album, El Camino, which will hit stores on December 6th.
Rolling Stone has the exclusive cover art for the single, which was designed by the band's creative director Michael Carney, who won a Grammy for his album packaging for their previous album, Brothers. "I went to take a picture of the building that the album Rubber Factory was recorded in, and this is what was there – a giant pile of bricks and a bulldozer," says Carney. "The back cover is a pile of discarded tires behind an abandoned shopping mall."
