Guitar Gods Crank It Up for New Documentary “It Might Get Loud”
A little more than a year ago, Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White spent two days on an L.A. soundstage, talking and jamming. The reason: they were filming an epic scene for the new guitar documentary It Might Get Loud, a film directed by An Inconvenient Truth‘s Davis Guggenheim that examines the three musicians from three generations’ relationship to the six-string. Rolling Stone first reported on the movie when it premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in the fall of 2008. On Friday, it finally got its U.S. debut in Los Angeles, and RS was there to talk with Page and White about making the film, whether there will be a soundtrack, and why they have to play so damn loud, anyway. “I need to feel it,” White tells us. “[Our valve amplifiers] start to really glow and glow, and they might even explode.
