Tim Taylor Dies In Crash
Tim Taylor, lead singer of the indie-alternative
band Brainiac, died early Friday (May 23) morning.
Taylor was driving to his Dayton, Ohio, home when he lost control
of his Mercedes. The car was moving at a fast pace when Taylor lost
control and the Mercedes quickly drove off the road and collided
with two poles and a fire hydrant. The car then burst into flames
killing Taylor instantly. "We're not sure what happened," said
Scott Giampino, director of publicity at Touch and
Go, the band's label. "There was either a mechanical
failure or Tim fell asleep at the wheel." An account has been set
up at the Citizens Federal Bank in Dayton in
Taylor's name to assist his family with costs incurred from the
accident. Brainiac had been close to signing to a major label and
also just returned from Europe where they opened for
Beck.
