Stones Scrap Homecoming Show
The Rolling Stones canceled their third concert in two weeks as
frontman Mick Jagger continues to suffer from health problems. The
sixty-year-old singer has the flu and won’t be able to play
Saturday’s stadium gig scheduled for London’s Twickenham — which
was to have been the Stones’ first U.K. stop on their Forty Licks
world tour.
“The doctors tell me that I must have two more days rest,”
Jagger said in a statement. “After that I will be completely
recovered.”
A second date at Twickenham is scheduled to go on as planned
Sunday. Saturday’s concert has been rescheduled for September
20th.
The Stones canceled a concert in Amsterdam last week after
Jagger came down with laryngitis, and missed a date in Spain
Wednesday night because he had a sore throat. The Forty Licks tour
kicked off in Boston nearly a year ago.
