Sheryl Crow Signs On for ‘Diner’ Musical
Sheryl Crow is teaming up with director Barry Levinson for a stage musical based on his 1982 movie Diner. The show, which will be penned by Levinson with original music and lyrics by Crow, is expected to debut on Broadway in the fall of next year. Kathleen Marshall, the director of the current Broadway hit Anything Goes, will direct and choreograph the production.

Diner, which was written and directed by Levinson, was set in Baltimore in 1959, telling the story of a group of high school friends who reunite in their 20s for a wedding. The cast featured early performances by stars such as Kevin Bacon, Ellen Barkin and Mickey Rourke.
