Lil Wayne, Coldplay Lead Nominations for 51st Annual Grammy Awards
Nominees for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards were announced in a new way this year — via a televised concert featuring performances by Christina Aguilera, the Foo Fighters and John Mayer, among others. At the end of the night, Lil Wayne wound up leading all nominees with eight nods, while Coldplay earned seven and Kanye West, Jay-Z and Ne-Yo tied with six. A diverse batch of artists picked up nominations, including Radiohead (who nabbed five for In Rainbows), M.I.A., Metallica, Plant & Krauss and Bruce Springsteen, as well as newcomers Sara Bareilles, Duffy and Leona Lewis.
