Weezer Announce Caribbean Cruise
Weezer are set to take their rock show to the high seas on January 19-23rd with their first-ever Weezer Cruise, which will sail from Miami to the island of Cozumel, off the coast of Mexico.
The cruise will essentially be a floating festival featuring performances by Weezer along with sets by alt-rock legends Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and Gene Ween, plus youthful indie rockers Yuck, Wavves, the Antlers and Free Energy. (Dinosaur Jr.‘s J. Mascis and Sebadoh’s Lou Barlow will also turn in solo sets.) The bands will perform on four stages located around the ship, with Weezer scheduled to play on the pool deck as the cruise departs and again at the ship’s indoor theater. The band has also committed to taking photos with fans and engaging in a Q&A session.

Along the way, the ship will stop for a day on the beach at Cozumel before the cruise heads back toward Miami. The likelihood that Weezer will take this opportunity to perform their hit “Island in the Sun” on an actual island in the sun is very, very high.

Pre-sale bookings for the Weezer Cruise will begin on July 21st, and cabins will go on sale to the general public on August 3rd. Ticket prices will start at $799 per person for double cabins, and groups of four can travel together for $599 each.
