Rihanna Debuting ‘Happy and Hippie’ New ‘Diamonds’ Single This Week
Rihanna will preview her seventh album on Wednesday with a brand new single, “Diamonds.” The track will hit radio stations at 8 a.m. EST for its premiere, and will be available on iTunes an hour later. Details on the new record will be announced, according to a press release, “in the weeks and months ahead.”
Produced by Norwegian hitmaking duo Stargate (who are also responsible for Rihanna smashes including “Don’t Stop the Music,” “Only Girl (in the World)” and “What’s My Name”), Rihanna described “Diamonds” to Z100 radio host Elvis Duran this weekend as “happy and hippie.”
She added: “It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive . . . And I just think the gears are a little different from what people would expect, I think; and I’m excited about that, I’m excited to surprise them sonically.”
Rihanna also recently announced she’ll be hitting the road again for the Diamonds tour next spring, beginning on March 8th at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center.
